I Rolled Over...

I officially rolled over by myself tonight!! I've been trying for a while and have been really close, but today I pushed myself over the edge. Mom missed it, but Dad witnessed my mad skills.

So, I just looked at my brother's blog and apparently he learned to roll over on the 27th of October and I learned on the 27th of August...weird

First two weeks at daycare

Well, the inevitable happened...I started daycare on August 2nd when Mom had to go back to work. It was rough on Mom, but I did just fine. I was a little overwhelmed the first couple days and didn't nap much, but I'm getting used to all the other babies and starting to sleep a little longer during the day. I guess it's ok that I don't nap much because then I sleep more at night for Mom & Dad!

I am laughing and smiling like crazy now! My brother makes me laugh a lot and I love it when people talk to me. I'm starting to grab things, stare at toys and I LOVE looking at myself in the mirror. I also learned how to sit up in my Bumbo chair which is super cool. Life is pretty fun so far.

First trip to the zoo

I went to the Detroit Zoo over the weekend and it was hot...I much prefer the air conditioned world I've been used to these past few months. However, the highlight of the trip was seeing turtles and a giant polar bear swimming (in separate exhibits of course) Also, Mom finally got a good picture of me smiling!

My first cousins weekend

Well, this cousins weekend is quite a thing to experience. I'll be honest, it was a little overwhelming for me - there were kids everywhere, lots of yelling and running and playing - so much that it kept me awake and restless during the day. I was just jealous that I couldn't run around, eat ice cream and play too...so lookout for me next year!

2 Months Old!

Mom and Dad said I was getting bigger, but were way off on estimating just how big! At the doctor today I weighed 10 pounds, 5.5 ounces (putting me in the 40th percentile) and I'm 22.25" tall now - that's up to the 50th percentile from the 25th percentile when I was born...maybe I won't be as short as Mom after all :)

In other news, I was caught on film smiling at the 4th of July parade (middle picture) and I'm consistently logging 5-6 hours of sleep at night (10:30p-4a) and then another 2.5-3 hours (4a-6:30a). I also really want to roll over, every time I'm on my back I immediately roll onto my side and kick my legs, but I just can't make the rest of my body move yet...

Getting bigger

I'm finally into 0-3 month clothes (even though I'm almost 2 months old) so I'm not very itty bitty anymore! I learned to smile - especially when Dad makes ridiculous faces and noises - and this week I was a much improved sleeper at night...I slept from 10p to 2a, then back to bed until 5:30 or 6a (I know it doesn't sound like a big deal, but Mom seemed real happy!)

Time flies

Wow, I just realized I haven't updated you on my life in three weeks - which is more than double my entire lifespan to date, so that's an extremely long time!

I've been busy growing and getting stronger each day. I think I'm graduating from newborn clothes into the 0-3 month size finally and everyone says I look bigger. Mom is sure I'm getting taller too because the clothes are getting tight length-wise!

I have excellent control of my head already and am starting to be awake for hours at a time. I'm very curious about my surroundings and love to stare at people, toys and the trees outside. I especially like to hear my big brothers voice.
